...First of all, I think it's a great idea for people who "have plants to
sell"....
If you don't have any plants to sell just yet, then you really shouldn't be
any part of this.
We've been through this before where I suggested that people should
specialize in certain plants and eventually you would be the "go to person"
for that particular plant. Everybody raised their hand and said; "I'll
specialize in this." and then didn't follow through....
I was opposed to the idea at that time because I knew what the out come
would be, and I was right. Most of the people that raised their hand didn't
follow through with the required action.
So the same thing applies here. What you should really be doing is jotting
down Janice's name, Email, and mailing address and consider her a strong
source for plants as soon as you have some to sell.
I know how Janice operates. If I were to Email her today and say; "I have
500 grafted Harry Lauder's Walking Sticks, do you think you can move them
for me?", she is going to immediately try and find a buyer for them, then
buy the plants from me. Now if the plant is rare enough she'll probably
just buy them up immediately knowing that she can move them.
There's nothing in the world wrong with what Janice is doing. She's very,
very smart and an aggressive plant marketer.
But in order for this to work she needs to hear from people with plants to
sell, not from people who aren't to that point just yet.
Janice Myers is in a position to buy plants from you folks because she and
Patty are aggressive go getters. They have only been in this group a little
over two years as I recall and they have done incredibly well, because they
take immediate and massive action. (Actual start-up date July 8, 2007)
Study what they do.
If you have plants to sell, then by all means get in touch with Janice and
see if you can strike a deal. If don't have any plants to sell, get started
and grow thousands of them. If you're not sure what to grow do the easy
stuff, and just do 200 of each. Anybody can sell 200 of anything.
Good luck Janice and Patty with your venture and to those of you that will
eventually do business with them.
